H.E. Khangser Rinpoche examined the knowledge of the Geshes and fully ordained monks at Gyuto Monastery about the practice of Yamantaka, on October 5th 2023. Questions raised by Rinpoche include:
- Once the practitioner has visualized himself as the deity Yamantaka at the center of the mandala, if he is getting out of the mandala, how many steps are there from the center to the gate of the mandala?
- In the Yamantaka sadhana, one must offer a mandala to the Merit Field right before the Vajrasattva practice. This is the unique and traditional way of practice of the Gyuto Monastery. Why do we offer a mandala at this point? And provide sources of references to support your answers.
